Highvale couple Sabrina and Charles Kleiman have brought nearly two decades of worldly experience back to the samford valley region to help local animal lovers.
The Kleimans arrived back in Samford in January after having spent the past 18 years living abroad in the island nation of Vanuatu, bringing with them the know-how for their burgeoning business venture.
The couple are currently establishing a small hobby farm on a parcel of land in the Samford region – the home base of their professional mobile pet sitting and horse care service, Hooves‘n’All.
“I am a horse enthusiast and Charles a dog enthusiast, and I have been managing hobby farms and caring for a wide range of plants and animals for 15 years,” Sabrina said.
Sabrina, whose passion for horses started when she was five, now owns two horses herself, has previously worked in the horse industry and has been tutored by Belgian instructors whilst in Vanuatu.
When she moved back to Vanuatu after a brief return to Australia nearly 20 years ago, she was entrusted with redeveloping a 1.5 hectare commercial fruit property.
Her natural affinity for farm animals also lead her to own and manage a 10 hectare cattle property, and she soon found herself “adopting” neglected horses, giving them much needed care and retraining them.
“At one stage I ended up with 12 horses, four of which just suddenly appeared one evening tied to my fence-line, as the people who owned them no longer wanted the responsibility,” Sabrina said.
Now she has brought that willingness to care for all types of animals to the Samford area.
Hooves ‘n’ All cater for a wide range of customer needs, including people who travel at short notice due to work commitments, or are away on holidays or for the weekend and need their animals looked after.
The business also helps people who need to feed, rug and stable their animals during a night out or require someone to clean out their stable, barn or paddocks.
Sabrina can also help in preparing horses for equestrian competition.
“The aim of this service is to offer an extremely personalised level of care to make our client’s time away as hassle-free as possible,” Sabrina said.
“Where lack of time is the problem, we will assist in any way we can.”
